Under cloudy skies, April 8, 2005, the New Mexico Department of Transportation, District 4 and the community of Santa Rosa, New Mexico broke ground on GRIP 54.

 

“This is an important national route and a major portion of the highway runs through New Mexico ,” said Transportation Secretary Rhonda Faught.  “It gives us an opportunity to improve interstate commerce and we want to make US 54 as safe as possible while boosting our states economy.”

 

Adjutant Secretary Rebecca Montoya and Deputy Secretary Robert Ortiz joined District 4 Engineer Paul Gray, Santa Rosa and Guadalupe County Dignataries for the groundbreaking ceremony.
